The Story of the Design:
In May of 2019, in honor of what would have been my mother's 62nd birthday, I painted 62 small watercolor butterflies, which are a special reminder of my mom. The following May, I combined prints of the paintings digitally, adding a 63rd in honor of her birthday. I wanted to share the design with others in a special way and make it available in time for Mother's Day. I thought a tea towel would be perfect.

This is the second run of tea towels that have been printed.

My mother was a teacher and loved children. In her memory, all the proceeds from the first run (specifically 63 towels in honor of her birthday) were donated to Paint Love, a nonprofit organization that provides exceptional art programs to youth facing poverty and trauma. Among the amazing organizations they serve is Kate's Club, a nonprofit that empowers children and teens who have lost a parent or sibling.
